I’m Tessa, the maker, designer, and owner of everything Tzigns. I live in a small town in Oregon near the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. Life here is quiet, peaceful, and perfectly slow-paced. I’m usually surrounded by my sweet pets ~ Jaco, our favorite Catahoula Leopard Dog, Felix, the obnoxious black cat, and six chickens that just warm my heart ~ oh, and, of course, my absolute best friend and amazing husband, Jesse. We love spending time outdoors camping, fishing, kayaking, traveling for concerts, and exploring as much as possible.

Creativity has always been part of who I am. You could always find me with a pencil in hand, sketching and doodling. In middle and high school, beading and macramé became my creative outlets. I followed the artistic pull by earning degrees in Graphic Design and Cosmetology. But it wasn’t until 2006, when my mom and grandma taught me to crochet, that I truly found my creative calling.

Since starting Tzigns in 2006, it’s grown from selling handmade accessories online and at markets in South Dakota to really focusing crochet pattern design in 2019.

I love creating designs with interesting textures and stitch patterns. I often hear that my patterns look more complicated than they are ~ they’re usually just simple stitches arranged in creative ways to make beautiful, eye-catching pieces.

One of the best parts of my yarn-filled journey has been joining the maker community. I absolutely love connecting with other fiber artists, so don’t be shy ~ say “Hi” on the ‘gram!
