CARE

Take care of your handmade goodies!

If you find that your item needs a wash or has stretched out over time from wear, follow the below instructions…

Remove the pom pom before washing!

If your beanie came with an awesome faux fur or yarn pom pom, untie it from the inside and pull off the cord lock. To fluff and refresh the pom pom you can generously shake it or gently brush it. To put the pom pom back on, thread the cords through the top center hole (I like to use a large tapestry needle), thread the cords through the cable lock, and tie a bow.

What is the fiber / yarn content?

If 100% acrylic,  you can hand wash – or – put your item in garment bag and wash in the washing machine with a mild detergent on a cold, delicate cycle. Reshape and lay flat to air dry.

If your item is made up of any percentage of other fibers, such as wool, merino wool, or bamboo, hand wash in cold water with a non-rinse wool wash, reshape and lay flat to air dry. Do not put in a washing machine or dryer, as this could cause the fiber to felt.

Other care…

If your item is stuffed with poly fill, such as a handmade pumpkin or pillow, spot clean only.

If your are noticing any piling (tiny little fuzzies) you can use a fabric shaver to remove them. Just make sure you aren’t pressing too hard and damaging the stitches.
